The UK’s number one jive and swing band will appear at Stamford Corn Exchange on Friday, January 23.
Renowned worldwide for its high-energy swinging music and spectacular live shows The Jive Aces’ set includes songs from the latest album, King of the Swingers featuring such classics as: Bare Necessities; Mack The Knife; Sing, Sing, Sing and the band’s own hit version of Morcambe and Wise’s Bring Me Sunshine.
The band combines a mixture of fresh arrangements of swing, Jive and R and B classics made famous by such greats as Louis Prima, Cab Calloway, Bobby Darin, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin, Big Joe Turner and Sammy Davis Junior, along with a selection of superb swinging originals taken from studio albums.
The Jive Aces have worked with many of the top names in the business, including John Travolta, Status Quo, Isaac Hayes, Van Morrison, Count Basie Orchestra, Keely Smith, Priscilla Presley, Buddy Greco, Kirstie Allie, Kenny Ball, Chuck Berry, Tony Christie and Lee Evans to name just a few.
The Jive Aces headlined and sold-out the first ever swing dance at the Royal Albert Hall and brought down the house at thousands of festivals, theatres, dancehalls and major events in more than 30 countries.
The band has been featured on hundreds of television and radio shows and appeared each Wednesday night on BBC Radio London’s Late Nights show with Jo Good. Other appearances include CNN; ABC’s Good Morning Los Angeles; Channel 4’s Holy Smoke; BBC Radio 2; DNA Stories; Jazz FM; The Alan Titchmarsh Show; Good ay LA ; an eight week residency on the hit Italian show Niente Popo Dimenoche; Children in Need, and many more.
In 2012 The Jive Aces were the first live band to reach the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent, wowing the judges with a show-stopping version of I Wanna Be Like You.
The band has released seven studio albums, a dance compilation and a skiffle EP. The latest recording is The King of the Swingers.
