Vale Judo players are in the medals

Vale Judo kicked of its’ Autumn competition season with The Heart of England Championship in Walsall, where Vale’s top juniors were joined by friends from the Swedish Judo Squad led by coach Lars Eriksson.

The day got off to a good start with Vale players James Reseigh winning U38kg bronze and Sofia Palmer finishing fifth in the U63kg group in the Pre Cadets age band.

In the Cadets age band Emma Philip of Vale took U52Kg bronze, Ida Eriksson and Klara Mattesson won gold in U57kgs and U63kgs respectively and Amanda Hakansson took U70kg bronze.

Younger Vale players were in action at the Northampton JC Invitational competition, with great success all round.

In the Novice to 4th mon competition, Leonie Hart, Abby Rowley, Alice Singlewood and Daniel Singlewood all won gold medals in their groups while James Profit won silver and Harry Profit and Jack Cutforth won bronze.

In the 5th to 9th mon competition, an all Vale group of boys fought it out with Sam Conboy finishing in top spot.

Ryan Doyle took silver and bronze medals going to Jaye Middleton and Joshua Craddock.

The girl’s competition was equally exciting, with a three way tie resulting in the group being re-fought.

Bryony Cutforth pulled out all the stops to finally take the gold medal, while Alice Singlewood took a hard earned bronze.
