Success for young Bourne Town Harriers

Three Bourne Town Harriers, Elin James, Matthew Colman and Maisie Brownlow represented their school in the ISA regional cross-country event, which took place on February 6 at
the Gosfield Park School in Essex.

The Copthill pupils competed in difficult conditions against athletes from many other schools in the East Anglia region. Despite the course being shortened as a result of the recent bad weather all three athletes produced strong performances.

In the years 5 and 6 girls race Elin finished in second place ensuring her place on the East Anglia team that will take part in the National finals. Elin was followed home by Maisie, one of the youngest runners, in 31st place.

In the equivalent boys race Matthew finished in sixth place also cementing his place on the East Anglia team.

Bourne Town Harriers wish Elin and Matthew every success when they take part in the National finals which will take place at Princethorpe College, Rugby on the 1st March.
