Aaron Scott was a comfortable winner of the Grunty Fen Half-Marathon held at Witchford yesterday (September 14).
The Stamford-based athlete, running for Notts AC, finished in 1.10.18 and that was almost a minute clear of runner-up Steven Robinson from Peterborough Athletic Club.
He finished in 1.11.05 with James McIlroy of Larne AC third in 1.13.11 and Cambridge & Coleridge runner Sullivan Smith fourth in 1.13.13.
First female home was Daisy Glover (unattached) in 13th place in 1.19.44.
The race also incorporated the Cambridgeshire Half-Marathon Championships and that was won by Robinson with Smith taking second place and Lisa Marriott of Ramsey Road Runners finishing first lady.
On the team front Cambridge & Coleridge won the men’s prize followed by Werrington Joggers, St Radegund and Nene Valley Harriers while Fenland Running Club were ladies team winners ahead of Ware Joggers, St Radegund and BRJ.
