There was some spectacular hitting in the preliminary round of the Stamford KO Shield last night (Tuesday).
Zeeshan Mansoor, who once whacked 12 sixes in a single Jaidka Cup innings, smashed five sixes in his 17-ball 51 for Barnack at Nassington and yet still finished on the losing side. The rest of his side managed just 22 between them.
Adam Scotcher bagged 5-30 for Nassington who won by 55 runs.
Nassington now play Market Deeping in the quarter-finals. Deeping beat Uppingham by 16 runs at Outgang Road with Lee Peacock making 59 and David Gillett plundering 32 from 19 balls. Peacock was 17 not out after 10 overs before finding his form.
Dan George, Meli Adatia and Alex Wheatley all took two wickets for Deeping, but the highlight in the field was a 70-yard direct hit from Jamie Morgan which led to a run-out.
