There is no fear of Stamford AFC’s star players being poached this summer as many of last season’s squad have agreed terms for the 2014/15 campaign.

Manager David Staff said: “With Ryan Robbins, Richards Jones and Jordan Smith’s futures already secured we’ve added Jason Field, Lewis Carr, Dan Lawlor, Alvin Jarvis, Shawn Richards, Ash Robinson and Nabil Shariff to that list.

“Emeka Nwadike is also likely to return to the club and Jon Challinor is rejoining after finishing the season in good form after rejoining from Halifax.

“I am pleased with how things are looking and there’ll be some additions to squad including probably one player needed in each unit.

“There’ll also be two or three trialists joining us in July.

“A club like ours won’t be operating with a huge playing squad for obvious reasons but with a little bit of quality added it should see us progress nicely from last season.

“The players coming back did well last season, and they now need to step up and improve again but I think they are both capable and willing to do so.

Staff also hinted that there are deals nearly completed to bring in some fresh faces to the squad.

“He said: “Although other players have been secured from other clubs we’ll announce that closer to pre-season and when we can look to get registered.”
