One Touch U10s close in on league title

One Touch U10s moved to within one win of clinching the Peterborough Junior Alliance Red Zone title with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Hampton Navy on Saturday.

Joseph Cox broke the deadlock for One Touch after 20 minutes with a 20-yard free-kick, but three minutes later Hampton were level when Ethon Camfield turned in a loose ball.

In the second half, One Touch spurned a number of good opportunities and Hampton always looked a threat on the break.

With three minutes left, a Hampton player struck the far post twice after a cross, with Matty Betts then producing a superb goal-line block for One Touch.

The Stamford side immediately broke upfield and Rhys Holmes sent Josh Ford scampering clear to net the winner.

One Touch take on Arsenal Soccer School this Saturday in the U10 League Cup final.
