Stamford AFC manager Andrew Wilson has been sacked by the club’s board.

The decision was taken following a meeting of the Daniels’ board last night (Monday).

Wilson lasted just 10 games after replacing David Staff as manager of the club.

His record was: won one, drawn two, lost seven. He leaves the club second from bottom in the Evo-Stik NPL.

In a statement on the Stamford AFC website, club chairman Bob Feetham said: “The directors felt that, with results failing to make progress, we urgently needed to make a change. Four successive defeats, including the nature of that 2-1 Trophy loss at Carlton Town, started alarm bells ringing.

“This is far from a knee jerk re-action. NPL survival is of paramount importance and we will now seek someone to quickly scour the market and bring in quality signings who can make a real difference at this level.

“However, we thank Andrew for the energy and commitment he brought to the task and wish him well in the future.”

Anyone who wants to apply for the first team manager position should email Phil.bee1947@hotmail.co.uk with relevant cv before midday on Sunday (November 8).

Management experience, particularly at NPL level would be welcome.

The club said they will release more information about who will lead the club against Nantwich Town at home on Saturday later.
