Deeping Rangers Reserves manager Simon Dethick was much happier this weekend after his team delivered an efficient performance away at Ramsey Town, winning 4-1 .
Despite both teams being down to bare bones and Dethick the only substitute for Deeping, the team delivered a convincing win.
Ryan Birtles always looked dangerous and delivered a hat-trick overall with two of the goals in the first half.
The Deeping manager said “Our dressing room was a much happier place this weekend, after being 6-0 down last week the team received some choice words at half-time.
“This week we got a positive reaction from the team and the win ended up quite comfortable in the end.”
In the second half Ryan Birtles completed his hat trick with the pick of the goals, slamming the ball home from 18 yards out but not before Ramsey were awarded a harsh penalty.
A tangle in the box between Matt Simpson and Ricky Darlow saw the referee award a penalty and Darlow stepped up to score Ramsey Town’s only goal of the match.
Tom Smith completed the scoring for Deeping, when slotting home a rebound off the bar from a terrific effort by Steff Ladley, who unleashed a powerful shot only to be denied by the crossbar.
