Year 4 celebrated their learning with fantastic events and activities surrounding their latest topic; The Rampaging Romans. Dressed for the occasion, all pupils and staff donned their togas, armour and gladiator costumes to take part in what was to be a memorable day!

We began the day with an outstanding assembly. Through this we took our audience back in time to discover more about Roman life. From the Roman Gods to the invasion of Britain, our children shared their knowledge and demonstrated their superb acting skills, finishing off with a catchy number: ‘Just like a Roman’.

Following this, we began a carousel of activities, which included brooch designing and making, using clay, baking delicious Roman style bread and sketching detailed drawings of Mt. Vesuvius. These activities were greatly enjoyed by all children and some fantastic pieces of work were produced.

Finally, the year group gathered together to enjoy a ‘Roman Banquet’. Luckily, stuffed dormouse was not on the menu! Instead we opted for more tasty and modern Italian foods including pasta, pizza, olives and mozzarella. A fantastic feast and a fantastic day thoroughly enjoyed by all!
