Choirs entertained while visitors shopped and enjoyed the many stalls providing everything from games to crafts to food and drink.

The magic of Santa in his grotto captivated the youngsters and the awe and wonder on their faces made the evening even more magical.

Looking after the grotto was senior deputy headteacher Kate Atkinson, who said: “Santa’s Grotto was really busy all night.

“The children, and parents, were so excited to visit Santa to get a gift and share their hopes for the festive season.”

All children from Years 2-6 have celebrated with a traditional Christmas carol service with Year 2 and Year 5 children and parents celebrating Christmas in traditional style with a service at Bourne Abbey Church on December 9.

The children created a fabulous nativity scene to accompany readings and carols. Whilst Year 6 took part in a nativity performance entitled ‘Stable Manners’ at Bourne Baptist Church.

Earlier this week parents of children in the infant classes came along to join their children in Christmas art activities with some amazing creations seen.

Christmas is a time when we try to think about others and our choir have been busy again this year with a full programme of visits to the care homes and town organisations to spread the Christmas cheer.

Headteacher Elaine Radley commented, “Christmas is such a lovely time for schools and we are delighted that our parents have been able to come along to the various events and share in the festivities.”
