Your News: Bourne Abbey pupils meet Children’s Commissioner
On July 15, three councillors and ex-councillors, Stanley Fitch, Fran Fenwick and Kareish Rajkanna again participated in the Children’s Commissioner’s advisory panel ‘Young Amplify’ in London.
These events have become a regular event with the same children attending each time to build on past developments and activities.
This session based at The Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green, focussed on ‘Growing up in England’ and was a celebration of all the work done this year.
During the day the pupils took part in sessions of drama, poetry, art and worked together with 60 other delegates to create a large art montage wall.
One highlight of the day was meeting the new Children’s Commissioner herself Anne Longfield.
This is the third time pupils from Bourne Abbey have attended these sessions and it is a real honour for our school to be part of this influential and exciting project.
