Your News: Back to school for Bourne Westfield parents
The school was a hive of activity last week when Bourne Westfield parents returned to school for the morning.
Parents of current pupils were able to visit the classes to see how the children were learning and to join in with tasks.
Headteacher Mrs Radley commented, ‘It’s a super opportunity to show what the children are doing in class and how they learn.
Parents rarely get to spend time with their children in school so it was a special day for everyone’.
The children were all very excited to be able to show their work and loved having their parents in class with them.
It was a particularly special time for the new reception children and their parents as the children couldn’t wait to demonstrate how far they’ve come in just a few weeks.
The open morning was followed up with an Open Evening for the Reception parents where they really did have to go back to school, practising phonics and maths with the reception teachers.
One parent commented that it was, ‘an excellent insight, and helpful to see how the children are learning and how we can help.
It was lovely to come into their classroom.’
The school will be open again, on the mornings of November 24 and 25, 9.30 - 11am and November 26, 6.30 – 8pm, for all prospective parents of reception children 2016 to see and experience the wonderful things the school does.
