In the run up to the elections on May 7, South Kesteven District Council is encouraging local residents to register their vote if they want to have their say in the district, parish and parliamentary polls.
In the next few weeks letters will be going out to 62,000 households across the district informing people if they are registered.
Under a new Government system - Individual Electoral Registration it is now up to the individual to register their details and check they are correct. Previously one person could register the whole household.
If you don’t think you’re registered to vote you can register your details online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
The registration deadline for the elections which will be held on May 7, is April 20.
