A man says he has been overwhelmed by the response to his parcels for troops campaign after his story was featured in The Local last week.
Pat Graham, 75, of Rowan Way, Bourne, says he has seen a huge increase in the number of donations made to his parcels for the troops campaign.
He collects items and sends them to troops serving in Afghanistan.
People have even been leaving parcels on his doorstep and when Pat took his car for a service, the boot was full of donations when it returned.
He said: “We have had a marvellous response in the last week - it really has been amazing and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated.”
Pat received a letter of thanks on Wednesday from a soldier called Paul, who said the parcels made a “considerable difference to morale”.
Donations can still be dropped off at Pat’s home at 8 Rowan Way; at the Spice of Life shop in the Burghley Centre; or at Sam’s shop in Abbey Road.
