George McNeill obit

Retired civil servant, George McNeill, of Snowdon Avenue, Oakham, died at Peterborough Hospital, aged 77.

He was the son of Hugh and Agness McNeill and worked at RAF Cottesmore as a clerk.

On leaving school he served with the RAF for five years.

When he was younger he was goal keeper for Cottesmore Amateur Football Club for 20 years and was a committee member from 1963 and treasurer from 1968.

He leaves his widow Mary and son Andrew.

The Rev Dominic Coad officiated at the funeral service at All Saints’ Church, Oakham. Cremation at Grantham followed.
