TV legend and Britain’s most lovable fox, Basil Brush has been in Folkingham filming for his new show.
Basil Brush, known by generations of children for his popular children’s television programme, The Basil Brush Show, has been in Folkingham, with his TV chum Mr Stephen, filming sequences for his new stage show.
The Basil Brush Show which has been on our screens since 1968, was voted the best comedy show on TV, along with Basil making appearances on The Weakest Link and Basil’s Swap Shop in recent years.
Whilst in the area, Basil stayed at The White House Bed and Breakfast in Folkingham’s Market Place, where he was given the VIP treatment by owners Victoria and David Strauss. Some of his escapades are pictured right.
Victoria said: “It was wonderful to have Basil come and stay with us. He behaved very well and ate up all his breakfast. We can’t wait to see the show.”
The film sequences were filmed in Folkingham Village Hall, by film makers Chris Clark, Daniel Sumpton and Ben Thwaites and will be shown throughout the new stage show.
Chris Clark said: “It was a real pleasure working with Basil. He is a true professional. These film sequences are going to work brilliantly in the show.
“We will see Basil and Mr Stephen in different situations on the big screen which will give the stage show a different dynamic for the audience.”
The brand new ‘hit’ stage show, The Full On Fox Tour 2015, will combine live action with the big screen and will see Basil come up against a villainous and evil fox, who is intent on spoiling his fun.
