The new Bourne Elsea Park Primary School is being constructed

We are excited to report that the steel structure of Bourne’s third primary school, in Elsea Park, has been completed.

Builders, Geda Construction, are working very hard in conjunction with Bourne Abbey C of E Primary Academy, the Local Authority and the Elsea Park community to ensure that Bourne Elsea Park Church of England Primary Academy will be ready for 30 Reception children in August 2014.

Parents can apply for Reception places at the new school through the Lincolnshire County Council website until Monday, January 13, 2014.

We were delighted to confirm just before the Christmas break that the school will have its own Kid’s Club offering childcare before and after school.

This means that parents will be able to take advantage of on-site wraparound care from 7.30am to 6pm.

Residents of Elsea Park have been invited to design a logo for the new school.

Entry forms have been delivered to all the houses in the Elsea Park community and can also be downloaded from the Bourne Abbey website.

The local community are also being invited to have a say about the colour of the uniform for the new school.

Mrs Cherry Edwards, headteacher at Bourne Abbey, commented: “It is so exciting to be part of this great development for the community in Elsea Park.

We really believe that the school will become part of the heart of the community and are thrilled that members of that community are able to contribute ideas to various aspects of what their school will look like.

Further meetings for the local community are being planned for the spring.”
