Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed an exciting visit from ‘History off the Page’ on Monday, December 7.
Children were transported back to 1300BC, taking on the role of Ancient Egyptians.
During the morning, the children imitated ‘crafts-people’ making a range of Egyptian artefacts.
These included canopic jars, bread, oil lamps, wall paintings, amulet bracelets and perfume cones. In the afternoon, children took part in a range of role play and dance activities which were performing as part of the Pharaoh’s court banquet.
Everyone sampled Egyptian food and ‘wine’ in an amazing banquet, served by slaves of the Pharoah.
The adults and children all looked fabulous in their costumes and it will be a day we will all remember.
