Last week we all gathered together to celebrate Harvest at Bourne Elsea Park and what an amazing afternoon we had.
Our parents and carers were so generous that we had a beautiful selection of food to donate to the local Foodbank.
Mrs Edwards welcomed our parents, governors and the local community to our school to celebrate Harvest Festival. Year 3 did a wonderful job of leading the celebrations which was so lovely and we all joined in with singing songs and reading poems about being thankful.
The Reception pupils sang a fantastic song about the changes we see in Autumn and they had even made their own leaves to show how they fall from the trees.
Year 1 sang about the ‘Dingle Dangle Scarecrows’ who protect the crops in the field and did some brilliant actions to show how they shake about.
Year 3 delighted us with a musical composition linked to a poem about Autumn, which put a smile on everyone’s faces with their lovely lyrics and superb music effects.
It was excellent to see so many people supporting our school at this special time and the PTFA very kindly put on tea and biscuits in the hall with a special raffle to raise money for our school.
The focus of the celebration was giving thanks to God for the harvest of the land and sea and all those who make this possible.
We thought also of the harvest of loving and caring and how we can be a good harvest for God by helping each other and trying to make our world a better place for everyone.
