Fireman will swap hoses for buckets and sponges as they raise money for charity with car washes.

Crews from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue will take part in a series of events across the county in support of the FireFighters Charity, which helps support serving and retired firefighters and their families.

Among those getting in a lather will be the crew from Bourne, who will wash cars at Tesco in South Road from 10am onwards on September 27.

Car washes will also be held in Waddington, North Hykeham, Spalding, Saxilby, Skegness, Gainsborough and Donington. Waddington and North Hykeham will also hold recruitment events at the same time.

Crews will be working hard to beat the £2,000 raised from car wash events last year.

The Fire Fighters Charity supports serving and retired fire and rescue personnel and their families. It provides aid to injured firefighters, including physical rehabilitation, recuperation and emotional support at its residential centres and through its helpline service.
