Our testers polish up their skin in time for party season:

lL’Oreal Paris Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution, £4.99 (Boots)

This felt gentle and soothing on the skin and effectively removed traces of mascara; I didn’t feel like I needed to use eye make-up remover afterwards to remove stubborn panda eyes.

lBioderma Hydrabio H20 Micelle Solution, £9.99 (

My skin immediately felt calmer on application. It removed my make-up (including stubborn eye make-up) speedily and left my face feeling toned and hydrated. A new regular for my bathroom cabinet.

lMelvita Cleansing Micellar Water, £16 (

This beautifully floral fragranced product is gentle on skin and leaves it feeling soft and clean. It’s a great time-saver when you’ve overslept - a few wipes with cotton wool removes any traces of last night’s mascara in a jiffy.
