Guy Fawkes Night is just around the corner and this year is set to go off with a bang with displays taking place across the area.

The Stamford Kiwanis annual bonfire and fireworks spectacular will be held at Stamford Welland Academy on Saturday, November 7. Gates open at 5pm and the bonfire will be lit at 6pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display. Entrance will be £5 for adults and £2 for children. The display is sponsored by Hanson Cement with all proceeds going to local charities and good causes.

Blackstones Sports and Social Club will be hosting a bonfire night and barbecue on Thursday, November 5 at the sports field in Lincoln Road, Stamford at 6.30pm.

‘Reach for the stars’ at The Lions Club of Rutland Annual Firework Display at Oakham Rugby Club on Saturday, November 7. There will be two displays on the night, the first will be designed with smaller children in mind, and the second display more suited to the whole family, with all the big bangs, and bright sky fireworks you would expect. Entrance will be £5 for everyone over five years of age, advance tickets are £3.50 and can be purchased from Fords in Oakham, and Uppingham Sports & Books. Gates open at 6pm, with the first display starting at 7pm.

A fireworks evening with hog roast and family fun is being held in Seaton on Thursday, November 5 on Thompson Field, next to the George and Dragon pub. Proceeds to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Deepings Rugby Club is hosting a Fireworks Extravaganza on Friday, November 6. Gates will open at 6pm and the display will start at 7.30pm. Free parking is available at Deepings Leisure Centre and entry is £5 for adults and £3 for children.

In Market Deeping, a bonfire and fireworks display will take place at Greenlands from 6pm, on Saturday, November 7.

A fantastic display will take place in Baston on Brudenell Playing Fields this Sunday, with a fun fair running from 3pm, along with a food court that will be open from 4pm. A children’s fireworks display will take place at 5.30pm, followed by the main show at 7pm, accompanied by themed music. Tickets on the night will be priced at £8 for adults and £3 for children (under five’s go free).

Bourne Abbey Church of England Academy PTFA and Bourne and District Round Table have joined together to bring you a firework spectacular on Saturday, November 7. Two displays, a bonfire live music, stalls and a fairground, will take place from 5pm at Bourne Abbey’s school field in Manning Road.

Peterborough’s Firework Fiesta is set to light up the East of England Showground on Saturday, November 7. The event will take place from 5pm to 9pm and advance tickets are £3 for children and £7 for adults. Tickets are also available on the gate at £5 for children and £10 for adults, cash only.

A bonfire night is being held at Cottesmore Village Hall on Thursday,November 5. Gates will open at 6pm and the bonfire will be lit at 6.45pm. A fireworks display will take place at 7.15pm. On the night there will be hot food and drinks, including access to the bar in the adjoining social club. There will even be a special sparklers corner to entertain the children on the night. Entry to the event is £3 for adults, £1 for children (under 16s) and under five’s go free.
