Wakes Res see off Spencer side
THE Wakes reserves continued their unbeaten run since the heavy defeat to St Neots three games ago, with a hard fought victory over a stubborn and physical Northampton Spencer side.
Bourne opened the scoring, on a bumpy pitch, midway through the first half when Dan Mason receieved a through ball and went on to slam the ball home.
Shortly after Glen Spearink added a second putting the ball past the keeper into the corner from a quickly taken free kick.
The visitors rallied after the break forcing The Wakes to defend before manager Darren Munton rang the changes.
Substitute Dan Schiavi set up the third, beat his marker and sending an inch perfect pass for Glen Spearink to hit the ball under the advancing keeper to score.
The Wakes travel to Blackstones on saturday in a top of the table reserves clash.
