Tennis: New coach leads club's training sessions

BOURNE Tennis Club has stepped up its provision of coaching facilities by appointing Dominic Hole as its chief professional coach.

The coaching sessions are already proving popular with large numbers joining the Friday evening sessions for beginners and experienced players from nine upwards including adults.

The classes are open to club members and other players regardless of their standard or level of experience.

In August the popular Sunday morning sessions for youngsters from U8 to U13 will resume and these sessions will be supplemented by two weeks' of holiday sports camps in August when tennis will be offered alongside football, kwik cricket and unihoc for children aged 5 to 12.

For details of these programmes call Dominic on 07817 612635.

Bourne Tennis Club's mixed team returned from Rochford with an impressive 8-1 victory.

Katie Morris and Graham Moyle, and Linda Brunton and Iain Ross carried all before them and Clive Martiner and Joyce Slater suffered the solitary reverse.

In the Peterborough League, an all-junior Bourne team of David Gauci, Jack Mangieri, Alex Ross, Edward Nation, Matt Hassall and James Meadow beat Deeping E 6-3.
