Oundle Eagles were promoted on Saturday when they beat derby rivals Corby by a comprehensive 51-0 to claim the second automatic promotion spot.
It only took the travelling Eagles five minutes to open their account with winger Richard Griffiths scoring.
The winger added a second before Corby fought back, twice missing kicks for the posts.
After squandering chances Lewis Robinson crossed for Oundle before they went down to 14 men when debutante Kern Routley was shown yellow.
Will Griffiths was next to score before Ben Milborne was put in to touch down by the returned Routley.
In the second half Jack Sharpley got the ball rolling, scoring from a 35 yard burst.
With the fight going out of Corby, Simon New and Joe Rice added tries. Richard Griffiths completed his hat-trick with Oundle’s ninth try.
