Stoneygate have technically been awarded a win despite their match against Leicester Lions being abandoned due to a storm.
They had already run up a 29-7 lead by half time on Saturday and were dominating the match.
Club captain Graham Ough said: “For the first time in my playing career of 20 years+, the match was abandoned after the freak storm that caused the pitch to become waterlogged and not safe to continue.
“The Leicester Lions captain was very sporting in allowing ‘Gate to take the win in a match that could have been replayed, by saying what a good team we were and that another 80 minutes of being on the wrong end of a thrashing was something they would rather avoid.”
Despite the wet weather, Stoneygate played some sublime rugby in the first half to run in five tries.
The first came from on-pitch captain Michael Scott, followed by a try each from the centre partnership of Jo Murphy and Martin Britz.
Man of the month Steve Farrow, from Uppingham, added another brace to his recent tally and there were good performances in the forwards from Simon Dolby, Will Cropper and Michael Scott.
