This week the Oakham Hookers made the long trek to Moon Lakes at Tattershall to fish the actual Moon Lake .

Moon Lake is an old natural lake that houses some old and big natural carp.

The match itself proved to be quite difficult for most of the anglers with the fish refusing to feed in any great numbers.

One man who did find one or two fish willing to feed was Dave Thornton on end peg number 13. Dave started on the feeder with pellet and later on fished close in with paste he put together 60lbs 07ozs for a good victory .

In second place on peg number 10 was the ever consistent Paddy Morley who fished a variety of methods to weigh in 54lbs 11ozs.

His weight does not tell the full story as he landed one carp on his pole that weighed in at an astounding 21lbs 6ozs and is the biggest carp landed in any Hookers club match.

Third place went to Charlie Woodley on peg no. 2 who caught 36lbs 14ozs mainly on the pellet waggler. Section winners were Michael Daymond the youngest member and Claude Wardle the oldest member.
