Entries are now being accepted for the first ever triathlon due to take place at Tallington Lakes this summer.
Swimmers, cyclists and runners in their hundreds will be taking to the start line at the brand new event coming to Tallington on July 5.
Organised by SBR Events, the open water event will cater for both first timers and seasoned triathletes of the triathlon world. Consisting of a swim in the lakes, a single or double loop bike course depending on your chosen distance and a sprint or standard run alongside the lakes to the finish line.
Jason Randall, Tallington Lake Triathlon Race director said: “Tallington Lakes is a hidden gem and provides the perfect backdrop for our triathlon. We’re excited to bring this event to the local community and look forward to welcoming triathletes from across the UK on July 5.
“Triathlon is the fastest growing sport in the UK and our course has been designed with all abilities in mind, from first timers through to seasoned triathletes. This scenic course provides a welcoming transition into the sport along with the perfect conditions for serious sportsmen and women to push their boundaries and chase their personal best.”
On the day sprint triathletes will take on a 750m swim, 24km bike and 5km run, the perfect distance for first timers and novice competitors. The more seasoned triathlete or fitness enthusiast will conquer a 1,500km swim, 46km cycle and 10km run.
The event will be chip timed and regular water stations will be offered throughout the course.
