In Division Two of the Rutland League Oakham opened their campaign on Sunday with a seven wicket win over Kings Keys.
Oakham won the toss and elected to bowl, taking the final wicket for 213, the mainstay of which was a 105 stand by Javed.
Oakham’s Cameron Flowers was top of the bowling stats with five wickets for 57 runs.
Economical Joe Stafford recorded three wickets for 36 runs in eight overs.
Oakham raced to the required total, reaching it in the 32nd over with Jamie McCormack not out on 96.
Also in Division Two Ufford Park beat Warboys CC by 139 runs to take a full 20 point haul.
Ufford captain Ross Keymer did the damage with a knock of 94 before he was caught by Adam Hyde off the bowling of Samuel Vallance who was the stand-out performer with the ball taking five wickets for 87 runs.
Tom Cooper at number four in the order hit 53 for Ufford before going exactly the same way as his skipper - caught and bowled by the same partnership.
Ufford closed on 304-8 after 45 overs and they were simply too good with the ball.
Only James Trafford could put up a defence for Warboys, hitting 61 while the wickets around him fell.
Warboys were all out for 165 with Billy Hall taking four wickets for 39 runs, Sandeep Dahiya claiming 3-27 and John Collen took 2-11 from just 2.1 overs.
