Big hitting Zac Chappell struck a blistering 109 as Stamford Town stormed into the Stamford Charity Cup Final with a 113-run semi-final win at Ufford Park last night (Monday).
Chappell struck nine sixes in his innings and received top support from Chris Bore and Simon Prentice who both made 54. Joe Harrington (44) top scored in Ufford’s reply of 130.
Stamford will now play holders Bourne in the final on Monday, June 30, at a neutral venue to be decided.
Bourne eased past Uppingham by 59 runs in their semi-final at the Abbey Lawn.
In-form skipper Pete Morgan and Tom Dixon both scored half centuries in Bourne’s 150-8 before Colin Cheer (5-15) ripped through the Uppingham batting order.
Stamford have another semi-final date next Monday (June 23) when travelling to Nassington for a Stamford KO Shield tie.
Ufford Park host Ketton in the other semi-final.
