Market Overton Bowls Club members paid tribute to stalwart former president Tony Collison at their annual meeting.

Tony, also a former secretary, was presented with a gift by president Gerry Barker at a ceremony attended by Tony’s daughter Michelle, son-in-law Jonny Abbott and granddaughter Lin.

Tony is moving from Cottesmore to live with his son, and has had to give up bowling due to ill health.

Earlier, the 32 members at the meeting were told about changes to the club’s constitution and a decision to adopt a club shirt for matches. The President’s chain of office was then handed by Gerry Barker to his successor, Ann Cusdin. She said she was looking forward to the new season with her committee and captains.
