It was a wet day for the golfers competing in the Sunday medal for December competition at North Luffenham recently.

But that didn’t stop Bob Dixon who came out on top in division 1, scoring 37 points (off 12). Richard Young with 34 points (off 14) came second on countback from Jim Ashworth (off 13)

Division 2 winner was Ian Duncan, with 30 points (off 19), followed home by Dale Roberts (off 28) with 28 points, and Charles Cade was third on countback (off 25).

The midweek medal winner was Jim Ashworth, scoring 35 points playing off 13, with Malcolm Hird (off 16) second with 34 points, and Dale Pettitt third on 33 points (off 24)

The Seniors held their Christmas lunch recently, which also included the presentation of prizes for the Summer Order of Merit. These competitions take place on members roll-up morning every Thursday throughout the year.

Graham Ball won the team competition with 82 points, with Chris Lee second on 81 points.The same winner, Graham Ball took the honours in the individual competition, scoring 58 points, with club captain, Alan Swindley, trailing behind with 36 points. Graham completed a clean sweep winning the highest point scorer in the midweek medals for 2014.

The leading lady was Doreen Bilsdon, who had also made a quilt in her spare time to be raffled for club funds. The raffle raised £325.

Last month all the trophy winners from throughout the summer were given their awards at a ceremony.

The winners were: Mixed foursomes: Geoff and Anna Clyde, Gents singles: John Fursdon, Gents Doubles: John Fursdon/Richard Young, Senior Singles: Geoff Clyde, Senior Doubles:Alan Swindley/Graham Ball.
