Rutland sides Uppingham Town and Oakham United enjoyed a successful weekend in the Peterborough and District League Premier Division, both securing away wins.

Uppingham Town got over their disappointment at exiting the ChromaSport & Trophies President’s Premier Shield last weekend with a 4-2 win over Riverside on Saturday.

The win sees Uppingham keep pace with their rival for third place in the league.

They are currently in fifth and play again on Tuesday away at Peterborough ICA who are two points ahead of them in third place.

At the top of the table, where first took on second, a 2-1 win for Kings Lynn Reserves saw them switch places with Netherton United who have led the league for most of the season.

The Oakham revolution continued on Saturday with an impressive 3-0 win over relegation strugglers Ramsey Town.

United opened the scoring from Nathan Arkle in 17th minute before finishing the job after the break.

In the second half Michael Nelson scored in the 74th minute, quickly followed by Robbie Dance in the 79th to complete the rout.

Deeping Rangers Reserves’ match against Crowland Town was postponed.
