Wakes win ahead of semi-final clash
BOURNE prepared for tomorrow evening’s Lincolnshire Senior Trophy semi-final in perfect style on Saturday.
The Wakes beat Northampton ON Chenecks 2-1 away from home with goals from Alex Brockbank and Stu Lambie.
Bourne host UCL Premier Division side Holbeach United at the Abbey Lawn in the semi-final of the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy tomorrow. Kick off is 7.45pm.
* BOURNE’s reserves won 5-0 for the second week running at the Abbey Lawn.
Saturday’s victims were Boston Town Reserves, who fared no better than Long Buckby’s 2nd XI had a week earlier.
The result leaves Bourne to sixth in the United Counties League’s Reserves Second Division but thanks to a bizarre fixture list, all of the Wakes Seconds’ six remaining league games are away from home.
* ELSEWHERE Langtoft United also scored five, beating Peterborough’s FC Inter side 5-1 at home to maintain their promotion challenge on division one of the Peterborough and Distrct League.
Daniel Morris scored twice with Aaron Mourton, John Armstrong and
Modesto Angelo Santaniello also scoring.
* IN Division Four, Baston won 2-1 at Stamford Bels Res thanks to goals from Ben Hudson and Craig Bullivant.
