Bourne Town secured a top-half finish in the UCL Division One thanks to a late equaliser from Tyler Sculthorpe on Saturday.

Eight days after a home defeat to Woodford United, the Wakes were heading for a final-day loss but Adam Knight’s last match at the Reds helm ended in 2-2 stalemate.

A loss which would have been a disappointing end to the season for a Bourne team which has shown a vast improvement since the midway point of the year.

However in recent weeks they have lost their way a little with one win in seven games but still claimed a 10th place finish.

Joe Bull’s 28th-minute goal had the Wakes in front at the break but Woodford hit back with goals from Steve Roe midway through the second period and Paul Beevor just nine minutes later.

Sculthorpe’s 79th-minute effort gave Bourne a share of the spoils.

Woodford: Ashley Baxter, Mike Lorraine (Steve Roe), Paul Beevor, Craig Hyde, Adam Knight, Dan Childs, Ryan Waldock, Jack Wise, Justin McKenzie (Simon Howard), Ben Grant, Perry Moore.

Bourne: Aaron Fagan, Joe Moore-Papworth, Joe Bull, Andy Moss, Aaron Jesson, Scott Spearink, Tyler Sculthorpe, Henry Dunn, Josh Hales (Dan Wilson), Harley Williams (Kieran Blanchard), Zak Munton.
