Ryhall United won their sixth game in a row, beating Pinchbeck Reserves 2-0 to progress to the quarter-finals of the PDFL Cup.
United controlled the first half, bossing the possession, but failed to breach the Pinchbeck defence.
Ryan Brown saw his snap shot crash against the post before Jake Walton also hit the framework.
Luke Ball was denied when the visiting keeper showed bravery to charge down his close-range shot when put through one-on-one.
United continued their dominance in the second half and Jack Travers was unlucky when his effort was cleared off the line.
The frustration started to grow in Ryhall when attack after attack ended in vain, until new signing Sam Bush came off the bench and gave them the lead with an excellent chip shot that flew over the keeper into the net.
A second goal soon followed as Walton beat the offside trap to race clear of the defence, rounding the keeper to slot into an empty net to seal the win and book Ryhall’s place in the next round.
United thought they had added a third as Brown pounced on a rare keeper mistake to prod the ball home but was judged offside.
