Rutland Dead Rabbits continued their great start to the season with a 3-2 win at Leicestershire District League One side Glen Villa in the Leicestershire FA Trophy on Saturday.
Rabbits controlled the ball well in the middle but it was the home side who took the lead.
Rabbits went close twice before a well placed ball from Liam Hollingworth found James Slack who skipped past his man and cleverly finished past the keeper.
Glen Villa tried to hit back and restore their advantage, when the ball made its way into the area Dave Towse blocked the effort, but the ball fell to James Slack on the edge of the box where following his attempted clearance he slipped and collided with a Glen Villa man, who responded by throwing the ball at Slack and the referee reached for his red card.
With the home side down to 10 men Rabbits capitalized and within the opening five minutes of the first half Slack chased down a through ball and placed it wide of the keeper to put Rabbits ahead.
Glen Pava drew level and it looked like it was going to extra time but Tane Scott lost his marker to convert a Hollingworth corner to win it.
