Reserves enjoy five star victory
Bourne Reserves beat Long Buckby Reserves 5-0 at the Abbey Lawn
THE Wakes Reserves enjoyed their biggest win of the season, a 5-0 triumph against Long Buckby Reserves, on Saturday.
Danny Pick scored a hat-trick as the Bourne side cruised to victory in the second half.
Alec Robinson had opened the scoring with a first half header and Scott McKenzie scored Bourne’s third, placing his shot under the keeper after a clever ball over Buckby’s back line.
Manager James Dainty was delighted, saying: “It was one of our best performances of the season. We outplayed them for 60 minutes and 5-0 was not flattering.
Bourne’s reserves play their final home game of the UCL Reserves season at the Abbey lawn tomorrow. They kick off against Boston Town Reserves at 2pm.
l LANGTOFT United put seven past Warboys as they build up a head of steam in the Peterborough and District league’s first division.
Luke Newbold bagged a brace on Saturday with Adam Sparkes, Callum Fox, Daniel Morris, John Armstrong and Modesto Santaniello also on target.
Langtoft are second on goal difference behind Riverside but have played more matches.
They play FC Inter at home on Saturday.
