DEEPING Rangers reached the semi-finals of the Hinchingbrooke Cup on Tuesday evening with a 3-1 victory at Cranfield.
Kevin Brader gave Rangers the lead three minutes in and Matt Evans doubled their advantage after 28 minutes.
Scott Ginty scored a 49th minute third to wrap up the win. Rhys Othneil scored a 79th minute consolation.
Rangers will face Stotfold at home in the semis.
Deeping travel to bottom side Desborough tomorrow, hoping to end a run of three draws in the league.
Rangers drew 1-1 at home with Newport Pagnell last Saturday.
Richard Armstrong gave the Swans the lead after 14 minutes. Rangers levelled two minutes before the break through Matt Heron. Heron was later forced off with a groin injury.
Deeping had countless opportunities to pocket the points but couldn’t find another way through. Josh Moreman and David Burton-Jones were denied by fine saves while Moreman and Ginty squandered other golden openings.
Deeping boss Tuncay Korkmaz said: “We should be looking back at three straight wins, but instead it is three draws.
“I would be much more disappointed if we weren’t creating chances though, but that’s certainly not been the problem. We just have to work on sticking a few more of them away.”
Ciaran Holt, a highly-rated midfielder has joined from Peterborough Sports.
Deeping: James Doughty, Matt Evans, Nick Jackson, Chris Logan, Steve Julian, Adam Weston, Kevin Brader, David Burton-Jones, Scott Ginty, Matt Heron (Kev Gilbert), Josh Moreman (Spencer Tinkler).
