Deeping Rangers ran riot against lower league visitors in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League knockout cup at Outgang Road on Tuesday.
Their unfortunate visitors Wellingborough Whitworth were whipped 9-1 as rampaging Rangers brought their goals tally to 13 in two games following the 4-0 win over Newport Pagnell in the league on Saturday.
Enjoying a goal spree is Josh Moreman, who got three in the cup game to add to one he claimed three days earlier.
Ryan Oliver opened the scoring on Tuesday after ten minutes before Moreman scored his first three minutes later.
Further goals from Oliver on 32 minutes and a great David Burton-Jones strike five minutes later built a winning lead by the break.
Matt Heron put his name on the scoresheet in the first minute of the second half.
Although Whitworth scored through Matt Hibberd after 51 minutes, Moreman was soon on target again in the 64th and 84th minutes.
Rangers were always in control on Saturday in the Premier Division and were ahead after 16 minutes when Spencer Tinkler headed home a ball nodded to him by Ryan Oliver following a Scott Ginty free kick .
After a period of scrappy play by both sides, Deeping doubled their lead on 42 minutes when Moreman’s shot was well saved but the ball fell to Ginty on the edge of the box and his instinctive lob found the top corner.
After Newport had a ‘goal’ disallowed for handball, Rangers had a flurry of chances before Moreman scored his second when he cut in and slid the ball into the far corner past the advancing keeper.
Deeping finished the scoring on 88 minutes, when Ginty’s pass played Moreman down the right, and his cross was deflected into the path of sub Scott Bogusz, whose fierce drive went through everyone into the far corner.
