Deeping Rangers’ powerful second-half performance saw them overcome high-flying Yaxley 4-2 on Wednesday night.
Dan Cotton’s 17th goal of the season five minutes before the interval gave Yaxley the advantage at the Haydon Whitham Stadium but they were pegged back by a 44th-minute reply from Scott Coupland.
Spencer Tinkler put Rangers into a 51st-minute lead which was extended by Scott Mooney.
Matt Gearing gave Yaxley a glimmer of hope but Luke Avis sealed the win for Rangers in the last minute.
The victory, combined with a 3-0 win against Cogenhoe on Saturday, takes Rangers up to ninth in the UCL Premier Division with a couple of games in hand over all but one side above them.
Deeping go to Desborough Town on Saturday, having lost 3-2 at the Waterworks Field in the Knockout Cup last midweek.
