The Evo-Stik NPL fixture list was devastated by the heavy rain on Saturday with just two games surviving.
The Daniel’s home match with Darlington 1883 was postponed following a pitch inspection at 10.30am by a locally based referee.
This was not the first time Stamford have had a game postponed because of a water logged pitch since moving to the £5.2 million Zeeco Stadium 13 months ago. However with six games across the league postponed and another abandoned there is no shame in Stamford’s match being postponed.
A statement on the Stamford AFC website said: “The club has worked to develop our new pitch which is still heavily compacted from the construction stage.
“The club have recently carried out some important drainage work in both goal mouths to help these areas. However, the pitch has a whole needs de-compacting and we are due to get this important work done over the next few weeks via verti draining.”
The players trained on the all weather pitch behind the stadium in preparation for their crucial busy Christmas fixture schedule.
The Daniels travel to Ramsbottom United on Saturday, before hosting Barwell on Boxing Day and then make the short trip to Grantham on the Bank Holiday, December 28. The festive fixture list is completed with the visit of Hyde United on January 2.
In the only Evo-Stik NPL games to survive the weather on Saturday Blyth Spartans beat Barwell 4-0 and Grantham Town pulled themselves further out of trouble with a 2-0 victory at home to Halesowen Town.
