Miller departs the Daniels

Striker Ricky Miller has left the Daniels to join Southern Premier side Arlesey despite Stamford offering what the club has described as their best ever offer.
Miller originally signed for the Daniels at the start of the season but chose to pursue the opportunity of playing for Corby Town in the Blue Square North during pre-season.
He returned to Stamford at the start of November, via St Ives, and made an immediate impact.
After hitting red hot form in front of goal, the club decided to reward him with a contract on considerably improved terms, however he confirmed on Tuesday he wished to leave Kettering Road.
“The club made him a generous offer, the biggest they have ever made a player,” explained manager Wayne Hatswell.
“That shows the ambition of the club at the moment, and it’s just very disappointing to lose Ricky.
“We would like to thank him for his contribution this season and wish him well for the future.
“We had already identified some targets to strengthen the squad and will now actively pursue the strikers on that list as a priority. We are confident we can find a good replacement.”
The Daniels have seen strikers Gary King and Greg Smith depart in recent weeks and are fortunate to have Alec Denton on loan from Rotherham United to ease their shortage of frontmen.
