Ketton showed what a remarkable job they have done since moving up from the PDFL Division One this summer with a thorough 3-0 victory over bottom of the table Crowland Town.

While Ketton were in control of the play for much of the match it wasn’t until late in the game that the goals came to make the result safe.

The Rutland side took the lead in impressive fashion midway through the first half, Ian Marsh impressively volleying in. The travelling side were creating chances but struggling to put them away however they were given a helping hand with a quarter of an hour remaining when Leigh Crane was shown a red card for an incident off the ball, pushing Matthew Woodman to the ground. Ketton terrorised the 10-men of Crowland and Will Bird played provider for two late goals. First he played in Jones whose deflected shot rippled the net and then just moments later the striker played in Jack Speechley to put some gloss on the win.

The victory moved Ketton up to 10th in the 18 team division but another win could take them as high as fourth in the table, albeit over teams who have a few games in hand.

Ketton have been racking up the miles in recent weeks playing five away games on the trot, but this weekend they welcome Holbeach United Reserves to Pit Lane.

Ketton: Charlie Hempsall, Ash Clipston (Andy Gray), Seb Hood (Ben Waldron), Johnny Holmes, Matt Woodman, Ian Marsh (Scott Holland), Alex Collyer, Jack Speechley, Dom Jones, Will Bird, Alex Brockbank.
