Stamford AFC’s key relegation game with Skelmersdale United was postponed on Saturday because of a frozen pitch at Borderville.
In fact just one fixture survived the freeze in the Evo-Stick Northern Premier League and that was just up the A1 at The Meres Stadium where Grantham Town lost 1-0 to Workington Town, with Conor Tinnion striking in the 11th minute.
The defeat means the Gingerbreads remain just in range of the relegation trouble towards the bottom end of the table.
Colwyn Bay, who sit just above Stamford in the bottom four, play Skelmersdale tomorrow night (Tuesday) in a game which could affect who sits in the relegation zone come the weekend when the Daniels welcome fellow strugglers Whitby Town to the Zeeco Stadium.
The Daniels’ postponed games away to Buxton and Stourbridge have now been re-arranged.
Stamford will travel to Buxton on Saturday, March 12 and visit Stourbridge on Monday, April 4, both in the league.
Before then the Daniels will host Buxton in the Doodson League Cup on Tuesday next week.
The postponed games against Marine and Skelmersdale have not been re-scheduled yet.
