Deeping Rangers have added two players as they look to improve on last season’s fourth place finish in the UCL.
Deeping manager Tuncay Korkmaz has brought in left-sided midfielder Rob Lee from Harrowby and right-back/right-sided midfielder Jeff Bates from Whittlesey but admits he could lose Stacy Cartwright.
Korkmaz said: “Mitch Griffiths (Sleaford) and Alex Beck (Boston Town) both left but we have kept everyone else from last season’s squad with the exception of Stacy, who has not committed yet.
“He is suspended for the start of the season but I don’t know if he has signed for anyone else or whether he will remain with us.”
The UCL Premier outfit are on the lookout for a new secretary following the sad death of Haydon Whitham.
The role encompasses activities for the senior element of the club - the reserve team and junior and youth section have their own secretaries - and anyone interested in the position should contact vice-chairman Paul Smith on 01778 342912.
Haydon Whitham’s funeral will take place on Friday, July 4, July at Peterborough Crematorium, Marholm, at 2.30pm and afterwards at the Deeping Sports & Social Club.
The request is for family flowers only and a collection, both at the Crematorium and the Sports Club, will be held with donations going to The British Heart Foundation.
