Cottesmore Amateurs are leaking goals like they have just hit an iceberg - as a result the Rutland side are sinking down the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division at a rate of knots.
Amateurs lost 4-1 on Saturday at Rothley Imperial and lost 4-0 on Tuesday night at Caterpillar.
It was the fourth and fifth occasion that Cottesmore have shipped four goals this season after just nine games.
They have a negative goal difference of 14 and have only conceded fewer goals than bottom side St Andrews Reserves who have let 27 in compared to Amateur’s 24.
However Cottesmore are missing some key men in their defence and were without Danny Swinson, Joee Aldridge and Dave Rawdon on Saturday.
Rothley came flying out the blocks and were 2-0 up after just 10 minutes and Amateurs trailed by three at half time.
Alex Mackie pulled a goal back just after the hour mark and Andre Fonatura and Tom Spawton wasted chances to pull Cottesmore back into the tie. However a comeback was put out of the question when both Jack Tomlin and John Rawdon were sent off.
With Cottesmore playing with just nine the home side added a fourth.
On Tuesday the Adcocks undid Cottesmore. Charlie and Jess Adcock both scored for Caterpillar alongside Matthew Burt.
The Amateurs did get a goal, sadly it was at the wrong end of the field, putting the ball into the back of their own net to compound the misery and slip to another defeat.
