The next manager of Bourne Town Football Club has been confirmed as Peterborough Northern Star Reserves manager Raffaele Mazzarella.
Mazzarella will take over as first team manager for the start of the 2014/15 season.
PNS Reserves are currently second in the UCL reserve league losing just once this season.
Mazzarella has also guided them to the reserve KO Cup final.
The Wakes released a club statement last night (Monday) which said: “After lots of speculation the club (Bourne Town) have, with the blessings of his current club and himself, taken the step to name Darren’s replacement.
“Raffaele Mazzarella, currently manager at PNS Reserves will take over at the end of the season.”
Current Bourne Town boss Munton resigned as manager at Christmas but said he would stay on until a replacement could be found.
Munton quit in September but was persuaded to stay at the ChromaSport UCL Division One outfit a few days later.
Munton quit in December after a 4-0 loss to Eynesbury on December 28 which followed a 6-2 thrashing by Harrowby on Boxing Day,
He handed in a written resignation which has been accepted by the club but he agreed to stay on as manager until the end of the season to ease the transition after the club held interviews for position in January.
The club’s committee selected a candidate for the position but choose not to announce his name until now because of his commitment to his current club.
Munton has been involved with the Wakes as a player, coach or manager for more than 20 years.
He said he will continue to work at the club in some capacity.
Bourne are currently 20th in the league after weeks of games being postponed and abandoned because of the wet weather.
