Bourne Town were unable to build on a sensational start as Woodford United fought back to share the spoils at
Abbey Lawn.

The Wakes went in front in the first minute as Craig Rook’s pass played in strike partner Jack Humphries to slot home.

Tyler Sculthorpe shot over while Greg Anayiotis had a shot saved by Alex Brown.

Reds player-boss Arron Parkinson picked out Joe Henderson with a free-kick which was headed over while Humphries collected Rook’s pass to jink inside, only to shoot wide of the target.

Parkinson was narrowly too high with a free-kick but Dan Smith almost doubled Bourne’s lead with a far-post header.

Ben Drinkwater shot across goal from Henderson’s angled pass and he was then thwarted by Brown after Bradley Stowe created the chance.
